WACO, Texas - Baylor plays host to the University of South Alabama Wed., Feb. 20 at the Baylor Tennis Center. The Bears are playing their third ranked opponent at home this year and have maintained an undefeated record after defeating No. 75 UL-Lafayette on Sat. Feb. 16, 6-1 in Waco. The Bears recently moved up in the national rankings to No. 8, and the Jaguars are ranked No. 35.
South Alabama comes in at 4-3 on the season, and are coming off a 7-0 win over Wichita State on Sunday, Feb. 17. The Jaguars bring with them Christian Thall who is currently ranked No. 48 in the latest ITA singles rankings. The Bears hope to avenge a loss to South Alabama last season. The then-No. 9 Jaguars defeated Baylor 5-2 in Mobile.
Four Bears are undefeated in spring action: Markus Hornung and Matias Marin are each at 5-0 on the season, while Zoltan Papp is at 3-0, and Mike Garcia is at 2-0.
Schedule Changes...
Three schedule adjustments have been made to the Bears' home schedule. Friday's (Feb. 22) match against Kentucky has been moved to March 22 at 6 p.m. Baylor's Big 12 match with Texas Tech has been changed to Sunday., March 23 at 1 p.m. The time has been changed for Baylor's Sunday, Feb. 24 match with Nebraska. It will now be played at 12:30 p.m.
