WACO, Texas - Despite the rain delay thanks to the leftovers of Hurricane Lili, the Baylor men's tennis team enjoyed success on Friday, Oct. 5. In the prequalifying tournament of the ITA All-American Championships, Benedikt Dorsch, Ivor Lovrak, Barry McLaren, and Jason Gould each won their matches to advance.
The ITA tournament held at the Champions Club in Chattanooga finished the first round of singles play after 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Ivor Lovrak was the first Baylor netter to complete and win his first match of the tournament. Lovrak overpowered Toledo's Dipesh Rao by a score of 6-1, 6-1, while Barry McLaren stopped Conner Murnighan of Illinois Urban-Champaign, 6-4, 6-4. Following their teammates lead, Benedikt Dorsch defeated Oded Teig of Oregon, 6-1, 6-1 and Jason Gould knocked off LSU's Brandon Nicholson by a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
