Men's Golfers Hold Slim Lead at Home

Final Stats

WACO, Texas - Sophomore Ryan Baca (69-67=136) shot a combined 136 and is currently second amongst all individuals at the Baylor Invitational. The Bears as a team hold a four stroke lead over Lamar and SMU heading into the final round of 18 Tuesday.

Senior Jamie McLeary (71-70=141) shot two under par in his second round and is tied for third place. Joining McLeary and Baca in the top 20 is Adam Meyer (71-70=141). The junior from Waco is one under par after 36 holes.

Baylor (559) as a team shot 17 under par. Lamar (563) and SMU (563) are tied for second. Louisville (566) is in fourth, seven strokes behind the Bears. Southeastern Louisiana (570) and North Texas (570) are tied for fifth.

Junior Will Doughtie (71-73=144) is even par and is tied for 30th. Senior Trevar Matheson (72-73=145) is one-over par and is tied for 40th.

Derek Abel (73-74=147), Jon Antunes (72-76=148) and Will McDonald (75-76=151) are all competing as individuals. Abel is tied for 54th, Antunes for 58th and McDonald for 75th.

Tomorrow the Bears will try to clinch their 18th tournament title under seventh-year head coach Tim Hobby.

The final 18 holes of the Baylor Invitational will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Bear Ridge Golf Club.
