WACO, Texas - Four Baylor men's tennis players have advanced to the round of 32 in the Region VI Omni Hotels South Central Championships at the Bayard Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.

Top-seeded Benjamin Becker leads the Baylor contingent into Saturday's singles action. Becker, ranked No. 5 nationally, handily defeated Texas Tech's John Walker 6-4, 6-3. Senior Zoltan Papp, the tournament's third seed, whipped through his match with Oliver Steil (UTPA) 6-2, 6-0. Freshman Ivor Lovrak dropped his first set against SMU's Henrik Soderberg but rallied to take the next two sets and the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Junior Matias Marin downed TCU's Willy Gali in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

Sixth-seeded Becker and Papp teamed to move into the round of 16 in doubles with a victory over Take Moeta and Ramez Qamer of Rice. Lovrak and Marin also advanced to the round of 16 by defeating Arkansas-Little Rock's Ivan Kovaler and Michael Tark.
