WACO, Texas - Eight Baylor men's tennis players will compete in singles and doubles in the Region VI Omni Hotels South Central Championships, Oct. 25-28 at the Bayard Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.

Sixteen teams are entered in the tournament. Joining Baylor are players from Arkansas, Arkansas-Little Rock, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Rice, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas-Arlington, Texas-Pan American, Texas-San Antonio, TCU and Texas Tech.

Entered in singles for the Bears are seniors Mike Garcia and Zoltan Papp, juniors Matias Marin and Reiner Neurohr, sophomore Benjamin Becker and freshmen Jason Gould, Ivor Lovrak and Barry McLaren. Becker and Papp will team up in doubles, as will Garcia/Neurohr, Gould/McLaren and Lovrak/Marin.

The top two finishers in each of the nine regional tournaments will automatically advance to the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, hosted by SMU, at the Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas, Nov. 7-10. Baylor's Benjamin Becker finished second in the National Indoor Tournament last season as a freshman.
