Baylor joined 11 other schools in participating in the TCU Invitational in Fort Worth. Eight Bears participated in singles while three doubles teams saw action on Friday, Sept. 21, the first of two days of competition.
Katja Kovac, ranked No. 25 in the ITA's Preseason Top 100, was 2-0 on the day as were No. 63 Vida Mulec and freshman Barbara Blahutiakova. Kovac and Mulec combined to win their doubles match also. Freshman Patricia Graf won her lone match of the day while seniors Paola Stephen and Frida Borjesson and freshman Whitney Morton each posted a 1-1 mark. Freshman Becka Thomas dropped both her singles matches. All three Baylor doubles teams were victorious. In addition to Kovac and Mulec's win, the teams of Borjesson/Morton and Graf /Blahutiakova were triumphant.
