WACO, Texas - Both Baylor tennis teams fell in the latest team rankings released Wednesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The women's team stepped down one spot to 14th, while the men fell to 25th in the nation.
Even winning seven in a row wasn't enough to keep the Baylor women from dropping down from the program's highest-ever ranking at No. 13, where the team had been the past two weeks.
The men slid six spots after losing 5-2 to then-No. 20 Miami on the road last week. At No. 25, the team's ranking is their lowest since the Bears ended the 1998 season ranked 26th.
Wednesday's rankings mark the 53rd straight week that both the Baylor men's and women's tennis teams have ranked in top 25. The streak dates to March 15, 2000, when the Baylor women moved up to No. 18.

The Baylor men host No. 3 Duke Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Streich Tennis Courts, while the women host No. 44 Kansas State Saturday at 10 a.m.
