Men's Tennis' Neurohr and Hornung in Semifinals

Waco, Texas - Baylor's young tennis players, Benni Becker, Markus Hornung and Reiner Neurohr, are making an impressive showing in the in the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas. Hornung and Neurohr picked up two wins today to advance to Friday's men's doubles semifinals.

Hornung and Neurohr upset second-seeded David Martin and Scott Lipsky of Stanford 8-6 in tonight's quarterfinals. They will face San Diego State's Oliver Maiberger and Ryan Redondo in tomorrow's 6:30 p.m. semifinals. This is Baylor's first semifinal showing ever at the National Indoor Championships. They opened the day with an 8-6 first round win over Middle Tennessee's Oliver Foreman and Robert Gustafsson.

Also today, Baylor's Benjamin Becker picked up an opening round win in men's singles, beating Stanford's Lipsky 6-4, 6-4. He'll face No. 2 Michael Kogan of Tulane in tomorrow's second round. Hornung, a last-minute replacement in singles, fell to Ohio State's Jeremy Wurtzman.

Becker will play second-seeded Michael Kogan of Tulane at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Hornung will play Phil Stolt of Illinois in the first round of the consolation on Friday at 8:30 a.m. Hornung and Neurohr will play San Diego State's Oliver Maliberger and Ryan Redondo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
