Cross Country Takes B-Team To Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Lady Bears finished ninth overall and the men didn't record a team score as Baylor cross country ran its "B team" in the Texas A&M Invitational Saturday.

In the women's race Texas A&M won the team competition scoring 48 points. Baylor recorded a total of 256 points to land in ninth out of the field of 18. Megan McCoin paced the Bears squad turning in a time of 24:27 for the 5K race. Katherine Duncan and Emilly Bonilla were the next Baylor finishers placing 58th (25:26) and 69th (25:50), respectively.

The Baylor men did not combine for a team total but had three runners finish the race. Chris Boley and Jon Capron finished 77th (28:25) and 78th (28:26), while Alex Altaffer rounded out the Baylor field placing 147th (30:20) overall.

Baylor's cross country team will take next weekend off as it prepares for the Big 12 Championships on Oct. 27 in Norman, Okla.
