Cross Country Announces 2026 Schedule

Bears will run four times at Texas A&M’s Watts Course in College Station
WACO, Texas – Sixth-year Baylor cross country coach David Barnett has put together the program's busiest and most ambitious schedule in almost a decade, a grind that will include four trips to College Station for meets at Texas A&M's Watts Cross Country Course.
The schedule, released Friday, begins with back-to-back trips down Highway 6 for the Aggie Opener on Sept. 4 and the Texas A&M Invitational on Sept. 11.
In the first of two-consecutive out-of-state meets, the Bears will travel to Huntsville, Ala., for The Southern Showcase on Sept. 18 at John Hunt Cross Country Park, hosted by Jacksonville State University.
After a week off, Baylor will compete in the Nike XC Town Twilight on Oct. 2 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind., the site for the NCAA Championships on Nov. 21.
The Bears will take another week off before returning to College Station to close the regular season with the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Oct. 18. Junior Ruth Kimeli has recorded top-15 finishes at the Arturo Barrios each of the last two years, placing 11th as a freshman and improving to eighth a year ago.
Postseason competition begins with the Big 12 Championship on Oct. 31 at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Okla.
Back in College Station, the Bears will compete in the NCAA South Central Regional on Nov. 13, trying to earn a spot in the NCAA Championship eight days later in Terre Haute. Kimeli has advanced to the NCAA Championship each of the last two seasons, along with making the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships twice in the 10,000 meters.
