Bears Defeat 19th-Ranked Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Baylor women's tennis team extended its winning streak to 11 matches Wednesday with a close 5-4 defeat of No. 19 Florida State in Tallahassee.
With the win, the No. 29 Bears improve to 11-0, while FSU falls to 9-3.
The Seminoles got off to a quick 2-0 lead during the singles portion of the match with wins by Kia Asberg at No. 3 and Ali Weber at No. 5. The Bears evened the score with wins by by No.1 Jahnavi Parekh and No. 2 Katia Kovac.
The two singles matches remaining at No. 4 and No. 6 went into second set tiebreakers. Baylor was able to win both tiebreakers to remain alive in those respective matches. At No. 4 singles, Karin Anderson won the third set to put the Bears up one. However, at No. 6 singles, FSU's Marina Raic tied the match at three by winning the third set 6-3.
The deciding match came down to the No. 1 doubles position, where Baylor's Katia Kovac and Vida Mulec took the the last two points in the tiebreaker to clinch the match for the Bears.
