Jill Van Zee serves Baylor Athletics as the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director, Human Resources & Chief of Staff. She was elevated to this role in May of 2023.
Van Zee joined the Baylor Athletics department on April 19, 2021 as Senior Associate Athletics Director and Athletics Chief of Staff after nearly six years on campus in Human Resources.
Van Zee previously worked directly with Baylor Athletics as HR Consultant and was promoted to Director of HR Consulting in October 2019, where she continued to work with the athletics department while also leading a team of HR Consultants serving the entire Baylor campus. In April 2020, Van Zee added leadership of the Talent Management and Recruiting teams.
Van Zee will join the senior administration team, serving as project director for select, executive-level initiatives, projects and presentations. As Athletics Chief of Staff, she will be the executive liaison for department staff, campus groups, Board of Regents, athletics donors and other constituents, while providing administrative support for the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Among other responsibilities, Van Zee will also assist in strategic decision making for the department and guide the development of agendas and action plans for recurring Executive, Leadership Team, and all-staff meetings.
Van Zee received a Master's in Industrial Management from South Dakota State University and currently serves on Board of Directors for The COVE in Waco.
Van Zee has been married to Brian Van Zee, Regional Director for Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries, for 26 years. They have two daughters – Breeley is a freshman at Baylor studying nutrition science and Raelynn is a seventh grader playing select fastpitch softball as well as junior high volleyball and basketball.
