Jake Baskin serves Baylor Athletics as the Associate AD/Senior Director of Development, Major Gifts. He has been in this role since August of 2022.
In his role, Baskin leads Athletics' major gift fundraising efforts with his team, including Emily Cocoris and Riley Becker. Major Gifts are given either upfront, pledges or through a donor's estate and can have multiple designations such as endowments, capital projects or current usage. The entry threshold for the Major Gifts arm of Development is $50,000.
Previously, Baskin was the Assistant AD/Director of Development, Major Gifts, starting back at Baylor in 2020.
Prior to returning to his beloved Baylor, Baskin was the Senior Manager of Business Development for Longhorn Sports Properties with Learfield/IMG College at the University of Texas from September 2007 to 2020. There, his team represented Texas Athletics in the business marketplace for the purpose of securing sponsorship and advertising revenue with a portfolio of commercial clients nationwide.
Prior to his time at UT, Baskin served TCU in various revenue-generating roles, including first as Frogs' Assistant Director of Athletics Marketing from September 2005 to August of 2007 and then as a Senior Account Executive with ISP Sports.
In 2005, Baskin had his first taste of working in athletics as he served the Round Rock Express Baseball Club as a Ticket Sales Representative and Assistant Director of On-Field Promotions.
Upon graduation from Baylor, he first worked at Dell Computer in Round Rock from July 2000 to February of 2003, serving as a Relationship Sales Representative II for large corporate accounts and an Inside Sales Representative for Dell Home Sales (DHS). His success was immediate as he was promoted to new hire "Sales Mentor" only 11 months after he was hired. During his time with Dell, Baskin was a two-time Circle of Excellence award winner, given to the top 5% of salespeople.
The Waxahachie, Texas, native graduated from Baylor University in 2000 with a double degree in Finance and Management. Baskin is a Baylor Letterwinner, playing on the Baseball team as a pitcher for the Bears from 1995-2000. He earned Dean's List and Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades, along with being an Academic Excellence honoree.
Baskin is married to Meredith Baskin and the couple have four children.
