Baylor women's tennis head coach
Joey Scrivano announced the appointment of Dave Watts as the program's new associate head coach beginning July 1, 2025.
Watts comes to Waco after leading the men's and women's tennis teams at Our Lady of the Lake University for three seasons in San Antonio, Texas.
"I'm incredibly honored to join the Baylor women's tennis program," said Watts. "I have deep respect for the tradition of excellence here and am thrilled to work alongside Coach Scrivano, whose leadership and experience are second to none. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of our student-athletes, both on and off the court."
Watts was named the 2025 Red River Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year. During his tenure in San Antonio, the Saints produced six all-conference selections and earned Newcomer of the Year honors in both 2024 and 2025.
The men's team posted a 20-2 record during the 2024-25 campaign, securing 20 consecutive wins before a season-ending loss to Cumberlands (Ky.) in the second round of the NAIA Tournament.
Capping an award-winning season with the women's program, Watts earned RRAC Coach of the Year honors as OLLU notched its first-ever NAIA Tournament victory, defeating Oakland City (Ind.) University in the first round before falling to Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College in round two. The Saints also won the RRAC Tournament title after stacking three-straight upsets as the No. 6 seed.
Before his time at OLLU, Watts worked with the junior tennis program at the University of Texas at San Antonio and owned Win Well Tennis and TRU Tennis, both based in the San Antonio area.
