Kyle Robarts arrived at Baylor for his second stint with the department beginning in July of 2018. He was hired as the associate director of athletics communications serving as the primary contact for women’s basketball and women’s tennis.
In 2019-20, he began supervision of 15 student workers for the Baylor athletics communications department. In 2018-19, Robarts was the media contact for the 2019 national champion Lady Bears, who posted a 37-1 record on the way to the program’s third national title.
Prior to returning to Waco, Robarts worked for St. Edward’s University as the assistant athletic director for communications and Marketing for the 2017-18 school year. He came to SEU following two years in private business, resuming a career in athletics communications that spans more than a decade with five stints at three universities in Texas.
In his first stint with the Baylor University athletics communications department from 2013-15, he served as the primary contact for volleyball, softball and equestrian while assisting with game-day duties for the football, men’s and women’s basketball programs. He served on both the 2014 Fiesta Bowl and 2015 Cotton Bowl communications staffs and accompanied the Baylor softball team on their 2014 Women’s College World Series run.
Prior to Baylor, he worked five years as the sports information director in two stints (2006-2008; 2009-2011) at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas where he oversaw 19 intercollegiate sports’ communications efforts.
Robarts graduated from Abilene Christian University in 2005 with a degree in journalism and mass communication; he also earned a master’s degree in 2010 at ACU with a degree in higher education. While at his alma mater, he spent three years as an undergraduate assistant in the athletics media relations office (2003-05) and one as a graduate assistant to the SID and athletic director (2008-09). He has previous experience in graphic and web design, which has served his athletics communications career.
He is married to Danielle Robarts, who was a four-year volleyball letterman at McMurry University. She worked in collegiate athletics as an assistant volleyball coach at McMurry from 2010-12 and as the director of operations for Baylor’s equestrian program from 2014-15. The couple resides in Hewitt and had twin girls, Aubrey and Peyton, in December of 2016.
