2008 (Redshirt Freshman): Walk-on played all 12 games as special teams player and backup offensive tackle as redshirt freshman in 2008, earned first letter... Named to Big 12 Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll for fall 2008... Regular special teams player, saw snaps on the offensive line in four games (vs. Northwestern State, vs. Washington State, vs. Iowa State vs. Texas A&M).
2007 (True Freshman): Joined program as walk-on and elected to sit out season as redshirt... Dressed for five games but did not see any game action... Spring Big 12 Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll member.
High School: Churchill High School, San Antonio, Texas... Two-year letterman along Chargers[apos] offensive line... Earned All-District 26-5A honors as senior... Played in 2007 San Antonio East-West All-Star Game... Led team in pancake blocks as junior and senior with 19 and 29, respectively... Started every game (21) over final two prep seasons... Academic all-state honoree played for coach Carl Gustafson at District 26-5A school.
