MBB Heads to Montreal for 2026 Foreign Tour

Bears to compete in two matchups in Canada
MONTREAL – Baylor men's basketball will travel to Montreal for its 2026 foreign tour from Aug. 6-10, highlighted by two scrimmage matchups against Concordia University and Bishop's University. Neither games will be broadcast.
The Bears will face Concordia on Friday, Aug. 7, followed by a matchup against Bishop's on Saturday, Aug. 8. Both games are set to tip off at 3 p.m. CT.
Baylor head coach Scott Drew is entering his 24th season in Waco, making him the fifth-longest tenured active head coach in the nation. The Bears advanced to the semifinals of the College Basketball Crown last season and aim to build off an influx of new talent coming into the program. Isaac Williams IV returns as the program's leading scorer at 10.4 points per game, but the Bears will also welcome seasoned transfers in Brett Decker Jr. (Liberty), Kayden Mingo (Penn State), Isaac Celiscar (Yale) and Evan Chatman (UAB). Baylor will additionally welcome a pair of top-40 prospects to the program, including five-star prospect Dylan Mingo, the younger brother of Kayden, and four-star standout Elijah Williams.
Fifth-year center Caden Powell was recently granted an extra year of eligibility, giving Baylor's frontcourt some added depth as he returns for a final season with the Bears. Powell, a Waco native, started the last 20 of the 34 games for the Bears last season, averaging 6.9 points and 6.3 rebounds. His extra season became possible after a federal injunction extended eligibility for a group of athletes affected by the NCAA's new age-based "5-for-5" model.
Drew's staff also brings significant experience into the season, with the return of associate head coach Jerome Tang alongside the addition of assistant coach/general manager Jake Lindsey and assistant coach Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua. Associate head coach Ron Sanchez and assistant coach Tweety Carter both return to the staff for the 2026-27 season.
