Bench Rallies SOC Past Texas, 2-1

AUSTIN, Texas – Baylor soccer got a pair of goals off the bench to knock off Texas, 2-1, on Thursday night at Mike A. Myers Stadium, improving to 3-1 on the season.
The win pushed the Bears to 3-0 against the Southeastern Conference this year and extended the Bears' unbeaten streak to seven matches against the SEC dating back to 2024.
Texas struck first, breaking through in the 16th minute when Callan Harrington buried a shot off assists from Ava McDonald and Hannah Tate to put the Longhorns up 1-0.
Just two minutes after entering off the bench, Aryanna Jimison leveled the score in the 32nd minute, ripping in her first goal of the season from the top of the penalty box and off a Longhorn header to make it 1-1 going into halftime.
The Bears got the game-winner in the 75th minute from Theresa McCullough, who buried her own first goal of the season to put Baylor ahead for good, 2-1.
Azul Alvarez was steady in net all night, finishing with five saves, four of them coming after halftime as Texas pushed for an equalizer.
Texas held a 17-16 edge in shots for the match, while Baylor's four shots on goal came from Jimison, Brynnlee Bohannon and a pair from McCullough, who kept Longhorn netminder Bayliss Flynn busy with just one save on the night.
Baylor returns to Betty Lou Mays Field on Sunday to host Pepperdine at 7 p.m. Admission to the match is free and the contest will be streamed live on ESPN+.
