HEAR FROM HEAD COACH MICHAEL WOODSON
"I thought we did a really good job in the doubles point. We were composed. We were brave. I thought we played the scouts really well and communicated well on the court. We didn't get too high, too low, even when things didn't go our way, and ultimately played the big points really well to take, I thought, a very high level doubles point.
"Going into singles. I mean I only saw half the courts, but obviously Texas is the No. 2 team in the country for a reason. They got on top of us in a few places and didn't give us a chance. I thought Devin obviously is going to be very competitive with Gorzny. We knew that match was going to be a war the whole time and Calvin got off to a really good start there on 6, and Luc obviously pushed his match on 5. It felt like even though we lost a couple of matches relatively quick that we would have a chance, and it just came down to a couple of opportunities and points that we didn't take.
"But credit to Texas. I thought they played a really good match and bounced back from the doubles point well. The margins are everything, you know, just how you take those opportunities or not, and they took them today, so credit to them. It was a great match and really proud of the guys, the fans, the support staff, everybody. It's just an amazing season, excited about how we've moved the program forward and really feel like we're in a position to move it forward even further going into next year. It takes a village and I'm proud to be a part of it."
Interviewer: What can you say about the overall season as a whole and the group of guys that we have?
On the overall season and the group of guys on the team…
"You know, I mean, I've been doing this is my 14th year in coaching, I feel I love every group that I have and I'm always proud of them, but this group was really special. I think in a transactional world they've been very transformational. They've been loyal to the program and to each other. They've built something special. I know there's a lot of staff that pours into it, but it's ultimately the student athletes that buy into it run, I really feel these seniors really every member of the team has committed to moving us forward leaving the jersey better than they found it. I'm really proud of that it's just a pleasure to be a part of it."
