Badenhorst becomes first All-American since 2022 for BU
WACO, Texas – Baylor men's tennis junior Devin Badenhorst has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American after finishing the 2026 season ranked No. 10 in the final ITA national singles rankings, the association announced on Wednesday.
Badenhorst, a 6-foot-7 native of Pretoria, South Africa, reached as high as No. 7 in the ITA rankings during the spring season while playing No. 1 singles for the Bears. The All-American honor is awarded to players who finish the season ranked in the top 20 of the final ITA singles rankings.
The junior becomes the first Bear since Adrian Boitan in 2022 to earn ITA All-American honors in singles after he capped a successful season, earning Big 12 Co-Player of the Year honors and becoming the seventh Bear in program history to receive the honor. Badenhorst posted seven wins over nationally ranked opponents during the spring and led Baylor to its first NCAA Quarterfinals appearance since 2022, delivering a dramatic comeback victory on Court 1 against Pepperdine in the Super Regional round to advance the Bears.
The junior also earned All-Big 12 First Team recognition in singles for the 2026 season, ending the year on a 10-match winning streak with an overall 20-8 record and 15-6 dual record.
Badenhorst and the Bears finished 25-10 overall and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight as the No. 10 national seed, its 28th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
