
MT’s Badenhorst Snags Back-to-Back Big 12 Player of the Week Honors

Junior earns third weekly honor of the season
IRVING, Texas – After a 5-0 week against two Big 12 foes and a non-conference match, Devin Badenhorst achieved back-to-back Big 12 Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Badenhorst continued his standout season with yet another clutch week at the top of Baylor's lineup, leading the Bears from the No. 1 spot against strong competition. Ranked No. 8 nationally in singles the junior from Pretoria opened the week with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Alessio Basile of Oklahoma State. He followed with a gritty three-set victory over No. 71 Yassine Dlimi of No. 12 UCF, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, to clutch the match and give BU its fifth top-15 win this season.
In doubles play, Badenhorst contributed across multiple courts with Calvin Baierl, including a 6-2 win over UCF on court Three and a 6-4 victory over Creighton on Court One.
Badenhorst is riding a five-match winning streak in singles, undefeated in conference season, and has notched a 7-1 record against ranked opponents this season.
