
WT Drops a 4-0 Decision to No. 23 Washington

WACO, Texas. – Baylor women's tennis dropped a 4-0 decision to the 23rd-ranked Washington Huskies on Sunday afternoon at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
Baylor took one doubles court and was within striking distance on the unfinished singles courts, but not before Washington clinched the victory between Courts Three, Four and Five.
THE RUNDOWN
Doubles was decided by a pair of 6-2 victories for the Huskies, as Reece Carter and Jermine Sherif defeated Neda Rahimkhani and Mu-Jie Tzeng, and Alexia Jacobs and Marie Weissheim beat Kennedy Gibbs and Alian Zack.
Sandwiched between the two Washington doubles wins, Na Dong and Zuzanna Kubacha picked up their second win of the dual-match season over Erika Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit, 6-1.
In singles, Washington picked up three straight-set wins en route to their victory. Jacobs finished first over Gibbs, 6-1, 6-2, before Sherif defeated No. 98 Tzeng, 6-2, 6-2.
Court No. 5 had the clinching victory, as the 115th-ranked Weissheim collected a 6-3, 7-5 win over Zack for the Huskies' fourth point.
Each of the remaining three courts were making a strong push for the green and gold as Dong was up 6-1, 6-5, Kubacha was up 7-6(4), 4-1 and Luna Ivkovic was up 2-1 in the third set.

The Bears have a pair of matches in Boston, facing Brown on Friday afternoon at Harvard before facing the Crimson on Sunday morning at the Murr Tennis Center.
