Bears welcome trio of new athletes to spring, fall rosters
WACO, Texas – Baylor women's tennis head coach Joey Scrivano inked three athletes to his 2025 National Signing Day Class on Wednesday.
The Bears will welcome Gabrielle Villegas to the roster for the upcoming spring season, while the remaining two will join the ranks before the fall 2026 semester.
Ligaya Murray | Yonkers, N.Y.
Career-high juniors ranking of 131, attained in April 2025 … Winner of four singles titles: 2023 J60 Salinas, 2024 J60 Salinas, 2024 J100 Guatemala and 2025 J100 Cali … Also boasts a multitude of doubles titles: 2023 J30 Tacarigua, 2023 J70 Tacarigua, 2024 J60 Managua, 2024 J100 Estado de Mexico and 2025 J100 Veracruz.
"Joining Baylor Women's Tennis is a blessing, and I'm excited to grow as both an athlete and a person of faith," said Murray. "John 15:5 reminds me that true strength comes from staying rooted in Him. I'm grateful to Coach Joey and Coach Dave for believing in me and welcoming me into a program built on hard work, character and faith. Sic 'Em Bears."
Maria Ustic | Oxford, England
Ranked as high as 388 in junior ITF play and 737 on the pro tour … Won the 2022 J5 Liverpool, 2023 J30 Liverpool singles titles and the 2024 J60 Isa Town doubles crown … Advanced through a pair of qualifying draws so far on the pro tour at the W15 Banja Luka and the W15 Kursumlijska Banja … Had a semifinals appearance in the W15 Banja Luka doubles draw.

Owned a career high 250 ranking in junior play, with a best ranking of 1553 on the pro tour … Won the singles championship at the 2022 J5 Adelaide with a trio of doubles wins at the 2023 J60 Plantation, 2024 J100 Kawaguchi and the J100 Brisbane … Got quarterfinal appearances at the W15 Caloundra singles and W35 Burnie doubles.
