Baylor Holds UCF to Three Points, Fewest Allowed to a Big 12 Team in 19 years
WACO, Texas -- Baylor's defense forced stops on 10 of 11 UCF drives and held the Knights to three points in a 30-3 rout, the fewest allowed by BU against a conference foe since 2006, in a Homecoming win on Saturday at McLane Stadium.
Baylor (5-4, 3-3 Big 12 Conference) jumped out early on UCF (4-4, 1-4 Big 12) with the first 20 points of the game and used a stifling defensive effort to throttle the Knights, forcing four punts, three turnovers on downs and picked off two passes, also mixing in a missed field-goal attempt, to hold UCF without points on 10 of 11 drives in the game.
The Bears allowed just three points – coming in the final 21 seconds of the second half after a BU fumble on its own 27-yard line – which marked the fewest points allowed vs. a Big 12 foe since holding Kansas State to three points in 2006.

After forcing a three-and-out on the first UCF possession, the Bears drove 48 yards on eight plays, with Robertson finding Cameron for a two-yard TD strike for a 14-0 lead with 6:41 left in the first quarter.
A 64-yard drive ended with a 40-yard field goal from Connor Hawkins and a 17-0 lead in the opening seconds of the second quarter.
The Baylor defense forced a fifth consecutive stop of a UCF drive and the Bears drove 48 yards on six plays to connect on a 28-yard field goal from Hawkins for a 20-0 lead.
After a BU fumble in the closing seconds of the first half, UCF got on the board with a 45-yard field goal from Noe Ruelas to cut the lead to 20-3 at the break. The Bears collected 306 yards of total offense in the first half, holding UCF to 125 yards.
The Bears added a 41-yard field goal from Hawkins with 4:28 left in the third quarter for a 23-3 lead, which capped a 13-play, 42-yard drive.
