BU looks to turn the tables in close road losses
WACO, Texas โย No. 18 Baylor volleyball continues its road swing in the Rocky Mountains when it takes on Colorado on Friday night at the CU Events Center.
The Bears will look to cool off a red-hot Buff squad that is 9-1 in Big 12 Play, while trying to bounce back from a disappointing 3-0 loss at Iowa State on Wednesday night.
Entering having lost three-straight road contests, the Bears have been close, losing six of the nine sets in that stretch by just two points.
The Buffaloes are one of the top attacking teams in the league, entering the week hitting .258 in conference play, while the Bears are tied for third in the Big 12 in opponent hitting percentage at .190. Baylor has held four of its last five opponents below .200.
Baylor, the Big 12's highest-scoring team in conference play (17.43 points per set), is 12-1 when out-hitting its opponent and 0-6 when it doesn't, so offensive efficiency will remain a key factor. As will fast starts, BU is 11โ1 this season when winning the opening set, using early rhythm and serving pressure to take control of matches.
Baylor's freshmen class continues to excel as Bailey Warren recorded the third double-double of her career last night with 13 digs and 13 kills against the Cyclones. The reigning Big 12 Rookie of the Week has teamed up with fellow signees Morgan Madison and Ksenia Rakhmanchik to be on the court for 90% of Baylor's sets this season, while accounting for eight of BU's 11 double-double's this season.
ESPN+ will have the coverage of the match, with stats available all season at Baylorbears.com/stats.
