
No. 11 VB Looks to Take Series in Lubbock

Bears to face Texas Tech on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
WACO, Texas – The No. 11-ranked Baylor volleyball team faces Texas Tech on Wednesday in United Supermarkets Arena, set for a 6 p.m. start time in Lubbock.
The Bears (19-4, 8-2 Big 12 Conference) look to get the season sweep of the Red Raiders (14-8, 3-6 Big 12) on Wednesday.
BU is coming off a 3-0 sweep of West Virginia on its own court, getting the season series from the Mountaineers. Both matches with WVU had the Mountaineers hitting at a negative percentage, most recently -.044 on Oct. 30.
Baylor rose in the AVCA polls to No. 11 while also rising in the NCAA RPI to 17th.
The last match between TTU and Baylor was on Oct. 19, with the Bears getting the win at home, 3-1. BU is now on a two-match win streak against the Raiders and a four-match streak for the season. Last time out, TTU was missing their starting and back-up setters on the floor in Waco. The Bears and Red Raiders last played in Lubbock in 2020, playing back-to-back matches. BU took that series, the first match going 3-1 and the second being a sweep. In head coach Ryan McGuyre's eight seasons in Waco, he is 13-2 against Tech.
The Red Raiders are on a four-match losing streak dating back to Oct. 15, when they fell to Oklahoma in Lubbock. TTU has only played two matches since seeing Baylor last: Iowa State at home and Texas on the road, both being sweeps. Head coach Tony Graystone is in his seventh season in Lubbock and has a 103-96 record with the Red Raiders.
