Three Bears Tabbed NCEA All-Americans

Davis and Day are now two-time honorees while Vorhies earns her first honor
WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian's Rachael Davis, Madison Day and Maddie Vorhies are 2019-20 NCEA All-Americans, announced by the national organization on Friday.
Davis is an NCEA First Team Flat All-American while Day and Vorhies are NCEA Honorable Mention Fences honorees.
Day and Vorhies are the 10th and 11th NCEA fences selections in program history while Davis is the 21st flat selection.
"We are incredibly proud of Rachael, Madison, and Maddie for being selected to the NCEA All-America team this year," head coach Casie Maxwell said. "All three have worked extremely hard and shown tremendous consistency this year, so we are glad they are able to be recognized for their efforts."
Day also earned honorable mention honors a season ago in fences, making her a two-time All-American in the event. Davis is now a two-time NCEA Flat All-American after previously earning second team honors a season ago while Vorhies earns the first accolade of her career.
Davis, a two-time Big 12 Flat Rider of the Year went an impressive 11-2 in the flat and 5-5-1 in fences for a 16-7-1 overall record on the season. A four-time Most Outstanding Performer, she posted a season-high score of 93 at Texas A&M on Feb. 28.
Day earns her second-straight All-America honor after posting a 9-3 fences record and 3-2 mark in Big 12 play. The senior from Brick, N.J., went 14-9-1 overall with a 5-6-1 record in flat. She earned three MOP honors and posted a season-high score of 86 at SMU in the first meet of the season.
Vorhies posted an impressive 4-0-1 record in fences while also participating in eight exhibition rides during her freshman campaign. The Canton, Ga., native earned two MOP honors and scored a season-high 87 against UC Davis on Oct. 4, 2019.
The Bears finished the season with a 5-8 record and 2-4 mark in Big 12 play, facing 10 ranked opponents in 13 meets. BU finished with a 4-1 home record in 2019-20.
