MT’s Lah Wins Singles Crown at ITA Regionals

Lah takes three-set win in the final, Dickerson and Soto fall in doubles

WACO, Texas – Baylor men's tennis junior Sven Lah capped off a big week in Waco by winning the singles title on the final day of the ITA Texas Regional Championships Monday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Seventh-seeded and No. 44 Lah posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Texas A&M's Austin Abbrat in the semifinals and then rallied to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 over No. 3 seed and 45th-ranked Valentin Vacherot of Texas A&M in the championship final.
He finished the weekend 6-0 in singles action and is now 10-2 in fall play. His victory qualified him for the ITA Fall National Championships, running Nov. 6-10 in Indian Wells, Calif.
In the doubles final, sixth-seeded Dickerson and Soto couldn't pull off the upset and fell 6-3, 7-6(2) to second-seeded and 17th-ranked Christian Sigsgaard and Yuya Ito of Texas. The tandem finished 4-1 in their first time competing together this season.
