Bears down Red Raiders in Lubbock
THE RUNDOWN
LUBBOCK, Texas – Baylor soccer (9-4-0, 2-1-0 Big 12) worked its second-straight conference shutout, taking a 2-0 win over Texas Tech (9-2-1, 1-1-1 Big 12) on Sunday afternoon at John Walker Soccer Complex.
Both of BU's goals came off the foot of Jackie Crowther, with the senior forward providing crucial minutes at the end of each of the two periods off the bench.
Crowther first put the Bears on the board in the 31st minute, gathering a blocked shot attempt to push the goal across and give BU the 1-0 advantage at half.
Keeping the pedal down in the second half, Crowther gave the Bears a crucial insurance score, working from outside the right side of the box, sidestepping multiple Red Raider defenders and drilling home a goal from 15 yards out to ice the 2-0 win.
