EQ's Demel Selected to AQHA Collegiate Challenge

Rising senior looks to repeat 2017 title
WACO, Texas - Baylor equestrian rising senior rider Abbi Demel is one of 16 collegiate riders chosen to participate in the 2018 American Quarter Horse Association Collegiate Horsemanship Challenge on Aug. 6 and 7, during the 2018 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City.
The preliminaries will take place on August 6 in the Performance Arena, with the finals on August 7 in the Jim Norick Arena.
Demel was previously selected to compete in the event in 2017, advancing through the finals to claim the first-ever championship in the event by a Baylor rider.
The field of 16 includes eight student-athletes from the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) and eight from the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) ranks.
