Top-seeded Bears reach championship match for second-straight season
THE RUNDOWN
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 9 Baylor soccer (17-4-0, 8-1-0 Big 12) took just under three minutes into overtime to connect on a golden goal, clinching a 2-1 win over fifth-seed Texas Tech (13-5-2, 5-3-1 Big 12) on Friday evening at Swope Soccer Village.
The Bears punched their ticket into the conference tournament title match for the second-consecutive season, awaiting the winner of West Virginia-Texas for a Sunday showdown back in Kansas City.

In the 56th minute, a blocked Tech shot took a hugely advantageous bounce for the Red Raiders, clearing back to TTU's Kirsten Davis for a shot from the top of the box that found the net to tie the match at 1-1.
Staying tied at the end of regulation, the team's entered overtime with neither side able to connect on a score to break the lock in 90.
At the 93rd minute mark, Jackie Crowther received a pass at midfield, dribbling into Texas Tech territory before launching a shot from 30 yards out, lasering her approach into the back upper left corner of the net to notch the golden goal and 2-1 win for the Bears.
