Blackmar Named to Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

The senior offensive lineman was named to the District 7 All-Academic team.
WACO, Texas– Senior offensive lineman Blake Blackmar was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 Team, it was announced yesterday by CoSIDA.
The Houston native is a double major in supply chain management and management information systems and boasts a 3.64 GPA. He is the first Bear to be named Academic All-District since offensive lineman Spencer Drango earned the honors in 2015.
Blackmar is one of five offensive linemen named to the team for District 7, which encompasses schools located in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. He is one of six Big 12 student-athletes named to the 25-man team.
Blackmar, who has appeared in 48 career games, starting 34-straight, was recently named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team for the third-straight season and is set to be one of 10 Bears graduating this winter. The Bears already have 14 college graduates on the roster this fall, the most in the Big 12 and fifth-best nationally.
Blackmar will now advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
