SOC Matches Program Record Ranking in Coaches Poll

WACO, Texas – Baylor soccer matched its highest-ever ranking in the United Soccer Coaches national poll, bumping up to No. 9 in the weekly Top 25, announced Tuesday by the organization.

BU also improved on its program-record NCAA Rating Percentage Index (RPI), inching up to No. 3 in the country in a crucial measure used by the NCAA Selection Committee in producing the postseason tournament bracket.

Baylor's average RPI win of 69 remains the best in the country, while all four of BU's losses have come to teams in the Top 27 of the RPI.

The Bears topped out at No. 9 in the coaches poll in 2013, the first season of the co-head coaching tenure of Marci and Paul Jobson.

This season, Baylor has secured the program's second-ever regular season Big 12 title and advanced into the semifinal round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship, facing Texas Tech on Friday, Nov. 2, at 4:30 p.m. in Kansas City. The Bears look to sweep both the regular season and tournament titles for the first time in program history.
