BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

BU Head Coach Kim Mulkey
On Alexis MorrisÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦

"She doesn't play like a freshman. She's really got a faster level and we will get to that. The kid has unbelievable speed and I think she needs to take advantage of it more. You haven't even seen how fast she can move with the ball in her hands. I think she's trying to run the offense and be patient and not turn it over and be under control. She certainly can come in when Kristy [Wallace] is struggling early and we don't miss a beat. She hits big shots for you. She is a freshman and she is going to make mistakes but I'm certainty glad she is on our team."

On Kalani Brown and Lauren Cox reboundingÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"That's a lot of rebounds for two girls who play together and they have to share the rebounding and not fight over it. To think you had that many come off the boards and they both had the same number of rebounds is pretty impressive, and we sure are glad."

On home courtÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"It was good to be back home. We have been gone two or three weeks. It was good to be back home. I thought the crowd was good. I don't know if there was a statement to make, we just need to protect our home floor. I think anybody will tell you that when you are trying to win another championship, you need to try to win all of them at home and sneak some on the road."

Junior Kalani Brown
On energy of freshmen and matching their intensity against TexasÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦

"I think the freshmen that we have are comfortable and come into the game hard. Playing Texas before, they bring energy so we just have to match that. We can't come out slow and sluggish. We have to match their intensity and it's always going to be a good game when we play them."

Freshman Alexis Morris
On her shotÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦

"We go over these shots. All the threes we made today, we do every day in practice. We do zone shooting, we attack the zone, skips. We go over this every day in practice, so I just shoot it with confidence and rise to the moment every time."

KANSAS STATE POSTGAME QUOTES

KSU Head Coach Jeff Mittie
Opening StatementÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦

"Baylor didn't shoot the ball very well compared to what they normally do. All that did for them, though, was just allow them to play volleyball against the glass and rebound it more. That really didn't help us as much as we needed it to. Baylor's front line is as formidable as any in the country. Baylor's size and experience in there really gave our freshmen an education on [Kalani] Brown and [Lauren] Cox tonight."

On how good Baylor's front line isÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"That's right, and you know Kalani has really improved her timing in the post. She doesn't use up a lot of energy and is very efficient down in the post. So, she has really progressed. If you go back to her freshman year, she didn't understand that, but now she really understands leverage better in the post. I hope our freshmen learn from that because our freshmen are a good five seconds behind each play."

On if he felt the zone defense was working in the first quarterÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"Yes, and we were getting some turnovers in that quarter, too. I think we had 10 deflections in the first quarter and only nine the rest of the game. Baylor's passing got better and then they went over the top of our zone. There is space up there that they can get to. We didn't fight very well and being the small dog in the fight you have to fight a lot harder than we did."

On what you see from Alexis MorrisÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I really like the pace in which she plays with. She played very well against us in Manhattan, too. I really like her, I do. I like her attitude. Poise and pace are two things that she seems to be advanced in and those are two good areas for a young guard."
