Sept. 14, 2017 WACO, Texas -- Baylor volleyball (7-3) will host the Jason's Deli Baylor Classic this weekend, welcoming Texas State, St. John's and UTSA to the Ferrell Center in Waco.
The Bears will close out the non-conference slate with three straight home matches as part of the five-match homestand. BU faces Texas State (8-3) Friday at 6 p.m. CT, followed by an 11 a.m. matchup against St. John's (7-4) on Saturday. In the tournament finale, Baylor faces UTSA (0-8) at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The Bears will host Cub Club Day against UTSA Saturday night. Tickets will be $5 and are good for the entire day during this weekend's tournament.

- Baylor recently defeated LSU (8-2) in four sets on Wednesday at home. The Bears are now 4-0 when holding their opponents under a .100 hitting efficiency.
- Katie Staiger moved to fourth all-time in career kills at Baylor with 15 kills, jumping from sixth with 1,512 career kills.
- Aniah Philo set a career high in digs for the second-straight match (21).
BEARS VS. BAYLOR CLASSIC OPPONENTS
- The Bears are a combined 30-25-1 vs. UTSA and Texas State in progam history. This weekend will be the first all-time meeting between Baylor and St. John's.
- BU looks for its first victory over UTSA since Sept. 24, 2013 (four-set home win). Last time, the Roadrunners defeated Baylor in four sets down in San Antonio (25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-9).
- Baylor has taken nine of the last 10 meetings vs. Texas State, most recently winning in San Marcos in four sets last season (25-16, 19-25, 25-22, 25-21).

- Staiger is 36 kills away from passing Katie Sanders (2006-09) for the most Baylor kills during the rally scoring era (1,547), which began in 2001. She is also 36 kills away from passing Katie Sanders (2006-09) for third-most career kills in program history.
- Staiger is the sixth player in program history to have at least 1,500 kills in her Baylor career.
OTHER CAREER MILESTONES
- Jana Brusek is 30 digs away from 1,400 for her career. She would become the sixth BU player to accomplish this feat and first since Kristen Schramek (2004-07).
- Hannah Lockin is 62 assists away from 500 in her freshman season.
