BAYLOR POSTGAME NOTES
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
- With the win, the Lady Bears secured the outright Big 12 Championship. It is their seventh-straight Big 12 regular season title and the eighth overall.
- Baylor earns the No. 1 seed in the 2017 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Tournament with the victory.
- Baylor has accomplished eight Big 12 regular season championships and eight Big 12 tournament championships all-time. Each championship has occurred under the direction of head coach Kim Mulkey.
- Mulkey earned her 500th win as a head coach with the victory over Texas Tech. Every win of her career has come in her 17 seasons at Baylor.
- Mulkey is the second-fastest Division I coach all-time to reach the 500 wins mark (594 games). The only coach to do it faster is her longtime mentor Leon Barmore, who reached the milestone in 576 games as a head coach.
- Baylor's starting lineup featured Nina Davis, Kristy Wallace, Alexis Prince, Kalani Brown, and Khadijiah Cave-- the group is 1-0 on the season as a starting unit.
- In 580 of 593 games under Mulkey, the Lady Bears have held their opponent at or below 50 percent field goal shooting, with only six of those efforts coming in the last 13 years.
- In Baylor's last 393 games, only three opponents (Stanford, .509, West Virginia, .500 and Texas, .516) have shot 50 percent or above. In the 2013 season, the Cardinal broke BU's 217-game streak of holding opponents below 50 percent or less shooting from the floor. BU's most recent string ended at 97 games.
- Baylor is 500-94 all-time under Mulkey.
- Baylor is 894-492 all-time in its 43rd season.
- Baylor is 236-18 over the past 6 seasons and 134-7 in Big 12 play during the span -- 116-7 in regular season conference play and 18-0 in Big 12 tournament play.
