BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening statementà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"If you like defense, you like tonight's game because both teams defended really well or the offenses were bad, so let's go with the positive. Great defenses tonight, I know I'm pleased to hold them 32 percent. You don't hold many Big 12 teams to 32 percent and 54 points. Following the Kansas game, Jo (Lual-Aquil Jr.), Ish (Ishmail Wainright) and Manu (Lecomte) all didn't practice Sunday and Monday and were questionable coming into today's game with ankle and calf injuries. I thought they played well considering they were banged up and everybody really defended well."

On what happened towards the endà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Well I think they hit two threes. If they don't hit the threes, then maybe we're in transition. Maybe we come down and score and now you get to 20 and it's a completely different game. They hit the threes, and we didn't score so now once you're 10 and under, it's a ball game as you know. If you look at OU, we really played well up there. We really shot it well. We were 9 for 20 from three and most of them were early. We were rolling and got separation that way. Here we didn't shoot it well, didn't get separation. Not many people have since we played them. Iowa State I think is the only one to beat them by more than 11. Every game has been 11 or under, typical Big 12 games. Coach (Kruger) has done a great job with them and they gained experience and have gotten better."

On Manu's performance tonightà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"That was huge and we like to run some stuff for him. He couldn't get separation. He couldn't really move like he's capable of moving. I thought that's a real compliment to his toughness. If you just came to the game, you wouldn't have known that he was injured. We complimented him for that, because he's getting tougher, getting stronger, and being a good leader out there. Obviously Ish and Jo too. I told Jo he needs to get injured all the time."

Junior F Johnathan Motley
On what happened to their lead in the second halfà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I honestly can't even tell you. They just started making shots. We weren't making shots and they just started to come back. We definitely could have got the ball inside a little bit more. There's just some things we're going to look at in our film to see what we could have got better."

On the mindset going into the gameà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"We definitely wanted to pick up our defensive intensity. We did a good job of meeting those shots at the top of the rim, blocking them and just making them take tough twos. That was the game plan, and we did a good job of making sure we did that."

Junior F Jo Lual-Acuil Jr.
On his 7 blocks tonightà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Yeah, it's just scouting report. Coaches do a good job of showing us what kind of tendencies the players have and we just dive in the film before we go out there, so we know what they're going to do. So it's just about reading it and cutting it off as quick as possible, trying to react to it."

OKLAHOMA POSTGAME QUOTES

Oklahoma Head Coach Lon Kruger
Opening statementà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦.
"I just thought Baylor got off to a good start and after that I thought we battled a little bit better. The second half we came out much better. Baylor's good, they're long defensively. Defensively in the second half we battled much better, just had a little trouble getting the shots to go. Baylor's good. Scott (Drew) does a great job and we just have to keep working at it."

On the final minute's performance....
"The foul was an intentional foul, you can't do it that way, at that point you just need to play with percentages and get free throw shooters to the line. You certainly don't want to give them two and get the ball back. The next time we just didn't trap the way we needed to."

On stopping Jonathan Motley's run in the first half....
"He's a guy you've got to give a lot of attention to and we didn't give enough of that in the first half. He also finds his teammates if you give him too much, so in the second half we did a little better job on him in the post."

Freshman G Kameron McGusty
On the difficulty getting to the basket against Baylor's bigs....
"It was very difficult. You've got two guys who are long protecting the basket. It's very hard, we tried a lot to look for good shots."

Freshman F Kristian Doolittle
On defending Baylor's size...
"It was very tough being 6-10, 7-0, it's pretty tough to box out. Even if you are, they can still reach over you. We just had to make a better effort in the second half to fully box them out and a lot of others could get the rebound even if it wasn't for myself. It was self-sacrifice."
