Baylor Game Notes 
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - No. 23 Baylor soccer (14-5-3, 4-4-1 Big 12) can add another historic win to its already remarkable 2017 season, facing Notre Dame (10-6-5, 5-3-2 ACC) on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 6:00 p.m. at Ellis Field on Texas A&M campus in College Station.
A win over the Fighting Irish would be the first win in the Sweet 16 round of the tourney in program history, with the Bears making their second-ever trip into the third round (2012).
Baylor advanced on penalty kicks, knocking out the defending national champions, USC, in the second round of play. Sarah King scored the tying goal with 16 seconds remaining in regulation, adding an exclamation point with the clinching penalty kick point after the match finished in a 1-1 draw after double overtimes.
The Irish had a similar path to the round of 16, knocking off the weekend's host, No. 6 Texas A&M, on penalty kicks after a 2-2 draw.
Baylor and Notre Dame have met twice before, with the Fighting Irish winning both meetings. Most recently, ND snaked out a 1-0 win in South Bend on Sept. 1, 2014,

BAYLOR QUICK NOTES
* Baylor can continue its remarkable run at the record books, with an opportunity to advance to the Elite 8 round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship for the first time in program history.
* Baylor knocked out the defending national champions, No. 9 USC, with Sarah King scoring the tying goal in regulation with 16 seconds remaining. After a scoreless two overtime periods, the Bears dominated on penalty kicks, 3-0, highlighted by two saves from Jennifer Wandt.
* Baylor returns to the third round of the tournament for the second time in program history (2012). In BU's previous trip into the Sweet 16, the Bears came up short on penalty kicks, drawing 1-1 after double overtime with the eventual national champions, North Carolina.
* Baylor is on a five-match unbeaten streak, winning its previous four matches before the tie on Friday night.
* In its five postseason matches this season, Baylor's opponent has scored first in three of those contests. BU has rallied to win or tie in regulation in all three of those matches.
* Baylor won the program's second Big 12 Championship title, knocking off No. 14 Texas and No. 16 Oklahoma State before downing TCU for the conference tournament title. Aline De Lima earned the tourney's Offensive MVP honors after scoring two goals and four assists over the three matches.
* Baylor has now had 10 or more wins in 11 of its 22 seasons as a program, six of the last eight, and two-straight under third-year head coach Paul Jobson. The 13 wins for BU is the most since the 2012 squad set a program record with 19 wins.
* Baylor has had at least eight wins in, now, nine straight seasons and has won or advanced by shootout in at least one match at the Big 12 Championship 10 times in 15 appearances, including six in a row.
* Baylor had four total Big 12 postseason honors, including three All-Big 12 first team selections, the most ever in a single-season for the program. Aline De Lima, Precious Akanyirige, and Julie James earned the all-conference honors, while Jennifer Wandt was named the top freshman GK on the Big 12 All-Freshman team.
* Baylor set a program record and led the Big 12 with 17 Academic All-Big 12 selections, with all 17 earning first team honors. BU has had 10+ selections for 11-straight seasons.
* From July 23-26, a group of current and former Baylor soccer student-athletes served on a mission trip to Guatemala alongside Baylor FCA. The mission team served the children of Guatemala City and shared the love of Christ through the game of soccer.
