STORY LINES
- Baylor closes out the 2017 home schedule with Iowa State at McLane Stadium. Prior to the game, the Bears will honor their senior class in an on-field ceremony.
- Thirty-two different freshmen or sophomores have started a game for Baylor through 10 games in 2017.
- Denzel Mims racked up 152 receiving yards against TTU to give him 1,001 in 2017 and Baylor a 1,000 yard receiver for the seventh-straight season. BU is the only program in FBS to accomplish the feat from 2011-17.
- Mims has recorded 100 or more yards receiving in five of the last seven games, including 152 against Tech.
- QB Charlie Brewer set Baylor records for completions (43) and attempts (63) while posting his first career 400-yard passing performance. Both totals were also single-game highs in the Big 12 for 2017.
- Round Rock native James Lynch leads all Big 12 freshmen with 3.0 sacks on the year, top 16 in the league.
- Against Texas Tech, 516 of Baylor's 523 yards (98.7%) were attributed to freshmen and sophomores.
- Six Baylor players have started all 10 games in 2017: Sam Tecklenburg, Blake Blackmar, Pat Lawrence, Denzel Mims, Ira Lewis and Taylor Young.
- The Baylor defense did not allow a touchdown at Kansas, a program first in a road Big 12 game. The Bears followed up that performance by holding Texas Tech's offense (averaging 500+) to only 337 yards.
- Sophomore kicker Connor Martin ranks second in the Big 12 with 16 made field goals and ranks second in accuracy (84.2%). He has converted 16-of-19 attempts on the season.
- Corner Harrison Hand is one of five freshmen nationally with eight or more PBUs on the season.
- Baylor has had 17 true freshmen appear in a game in 2017, the fourth-largest total nationally.
- Junior Greg Roberts is the only player in the Big 12 and one of 18 nationally to block two kicks in 2017.
- First-year running back John Lovett leads all Big 12 freshmen with five rushing touchdowns in 2017.
- The Bears' 26 first-time starters in 2017, including 11 true freshmen, are each the third highest total in FBS.
- The Bears lead all of Division I with seven plays from scrimmage 70 or more yards. BU ranks fifth in FBS with six passes of 60+ and leads the country with six passes of 70+ yards.
- Twenty-one of Baylor's 29 touchdown-scoring drives and 22-of-52 scoring drives this season have lasted two minutes or less. BU has scored in 48 seconds or less on 11 of those drives.
