Oct. 16, 2017 WACO, Texas - Baylor volleyball topped last week's program-high RPI ranking, checking in at No. 22 in the latest rankings Monday afternoon.
This is the second straight week the Bears have set a new RPI program high. Before that, the Bears' No. 30 ranking was the highest and first achieved on Dec. 19, 2009 and then again on Oct. 12, 2015 - head coach Ryan McGuyre's first season in Waco.
With the best record through 20 games since 2009, Baylor (16-4, 6-1 Big 12) has successfully navigated through a tough non-conference schedule and closes out the first half of Big 12 action on Wednesday.
BU has chalked up eight wins over RPI top-100 teams, including BYU (17), Iowa State (21), LSU (32), Washington State (39), TCU (54), West Virginia (51), Texas State (73), Texas Tech (95) and Kansas State (99).
Baylor checks in as the fourth-ranked team in the Big 12 behind Texas (4), Kansas (12), and Iowa State (21).
BU's only four losses on the year have all come from top-75 RPI teams, dropping matches against Texas (4), Florida State (30), Hawai'i (48) and College of Charleston (72).
Baylor hosts No. 9 Kansas in a top-25 showdown Wednesday at the Ferrell Center. The match will be broadcasted at 8 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Southwest Plus.
