BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening statementà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"We knew how tough of a place this is to play at, number one. Number two, Coach [Bruce] Weber and what he has done with the team this year, they have only lost three games and I think it was a total of five points in those losses. They have been nationally ranked, so we knew we had to be a lot better than we were in our last game out. I was proud of what we did on the glass. I thought that made a huge difference and then I thought our three-point shooting did. The last couple of games we have not shot the three well. As a coach, that is one of the toughest things. If you get an open look and if it goes in that is one thing, but if you get an open look and it does not go in then that is tough and we have been getting looks but not making shots. But today we did, so credit our guys on getting in the gym and getting shots up."

On what worked wellà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Well, I think they wanted to take advantage of transition as well and I think both of us, in the Big 12, you have to be able to get some easy buckets. I thought the glass was the area where we were most effective when this time last year we came up and really got pounded on the glass. I think it was 16 to six in offensive rebounds, 15 to six in points."

On final 10 minute stretchà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"We were able to get some stops and get into transition and get some good looks and make a couple of threes. I think Ish [Wainwright] had a huge three. Ish is somebody that has been spending extra time working and he hit big shots for us tonight. His tip dunk was a big momentum boost, too."

Junior Guard Manu Lecomte
On managing the gameà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I just try to stay focused and stay in the game and not getting too frustrated. They did a great job fouling me so I just had to stay in the game mentally and think about the next play."

On last 10 minutesà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I think we did a good job of getting stops because I feel like we did not do a good job at that during the game. We did a great job offensively but fouled too much throughout the whole game. Mot [Johnathan Motley] had five and I had three in the first half, but we just stayed aggressive and kept playing."

On bouncing back after lossà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Obviously we got smacked at West Virginia. Great team and a tough place to play. But then again, the day after is all business. It is all about the next game and we are 0-0. We knew it was going to be a tough game here against Kansas State so we came ready."

KANSAS STATE POSTGAME QUOTES

Head Coach Bruce Weber
On calling a timeout after a pivotal three-point shotà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"It was just to give us some rest. We have had trouble defending in second halves, and I wanted to make sure we had legs. I guess that was a change in momentum for them, so you can put that on me. I thought we struggled offensively on three or four possession in a row. We got stops on the other end and [Xavier] Sneed hit the shot, but I just wanted to give us a little breather there especially with [D.J.] Johnson.

On Baylor's effectiveness in the last 10 minutes of the gameà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"They are just good. Ish {Wainright} is good, Manu {Lecompte} is good. They are smart. They executed, they made plays and we just did not have an answer for them. One thing we look at is the stats. Obviously second chance points hurt us, 18-5. Points off turnovers hurt us. We had 15 turnovers. We only had three at half. Then the second half we had too many turnovers and a couple of them led to easy hoops, which allowed them to get their head up."

On Baylor being in foul trouble at halftimeà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I told the coaches that it could be a swing in the second half, but I thought the first half we struggled with the zone a little bit early. We did not look over it. We finally got it down the field. I kept telling them to get it down the field because they have got four guys up top and we got it to the corners a little bit. We made some threes and then we would force a shot. They were not horrible, but they were not in rhythm. I thought that was an opportunity that we could have taken it over, but we should have had a little bit of a lead at halftime."

On if Wesley Iwundu is forcing the issue on offenseà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I think he is just trying to make plays and I think that is with everybody. Let the game come. Some games you will distribute. Some games you will score. Everyone guards differently. You just got to let it come. I think one of the things was in the first half we got stops and we are pretty good in transition and in the second half we did not have as many stops. Same thing for them. They get stops and in transition they get some easy hoops, which eases the pressure on your defense."

On Xavier Sneed's performanceà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"It was good that he stepped up. Last couple of games he got going. One reason was he was at the gym when I got here early this morning. He was the first one there. He shot last night and he is very committed. We have had a lot of games and maybe not as much gym time and now he is back in it and feeling confident, which is good for us. He probably should have played more minutes."

Senior Forward D.J. Johnson
On Baylor's changes in the second halfà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I am not exactly sure. I have not had a chance to look over it yet. I do not know exactly what changed. They out toughed us those last 10 minutes and were able to finish off the game."

On if being out-toughed the most disappointing aspect of the gameà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"We did not execute. Doing the little things and they did all of those things and that is how they got the win."

On getting beat on the boardsà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"That is pretty bad. I look at 12 of them or nine of them and they had some pretty big guys on their team so you know, we definitely have to box out better. We got 10 offensive boards between two guys so it is something we have to work on."

Freshman Forward Xavier Sneed
On momentum after his three to take the lead at the 10 minute markà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I feel like we were there but it was a good timeout by coach to calm us down so we could come back in and talk about the new play. I believe that was the time when they did not go one-three-one or the zone they normally had so we talked more about man in the timeout."

On if defense is what kept K-State in the gameà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Yeah, I think it was. We were getting a lot of shut-outs on them in the first half. We had a couple shot clock violations on them. Defense is always pretty good for us so that was keeping us in the game at that time."

On what was working for you todayà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I mean, I struggled in Big 12 play early on but I am starting to calm down and come back to what I was in the beginning of the season. I am providing more energy on the defensive side and just progress to the offensive side."
