Attendance: 6,364 BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES
Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening Statement:
"I was very pleased with the start we got off to, I thought defensively we were really good early and rebounding we were tremendous all game long. The only thing I can complain about is our turnovers. And that is something we are continuing to work on."
3 straight threes to bring back Baylor's lead:
"I think TCU did a good job keep us off the offensive glass in the second half. And we didn't get as many stops, so we were able to hit those threes and put some stops together and because of that we got some separation, then it is a little tougher to play when you're down."
Zone shooting for Baylor:
"When we didn't score a couple of possessions and then we would call a time out, and I hate to say ti but as a coach you can't control all the shots to go in."
Rico Gathers's Performance:
"Rico has been recovering from an infection, so as we started to realize that we were starting to get pounding on the glass, we just expected him to get it and make out for the break. I think everyone is getting better at rebounding as a whole."
Looking into March, Baylor's future:
"I want us to be playing better basketball towards the end of this season, in some areas we are but other times, the coach is never happy. There are areas we have to work on and get better in, and the good thing is we still have some days to do that. I mean we all most the conference thing with Kansas, and if we had just beaten them at home, I would've been worried that we might have a let-down after that game and then we wouldn't have a chance at conference anymore. But the guys came out focused today and ready to play."
