Several Baylor football student-athletes visited local elementary schools to read to students Friday. Below is a note from a local teacher to our football coaching staff.

Dear Baylor Football Coaching Staff,

Today I had the privilege of having Sam Tecklenburg come read to my fourth grade class here at South Bosque Elementary. He was an absolute delight to have in my classroom. Over the years I've had many guests visit and read, and while my students have enjoyed them all, I've never seen anyone engage and connect with the kids like Sam did. He eloquently read a book about the Manning family, shared his personal school experiences with us, took pictures with each child, and answered their many, many questions. The Waco community is fortunate that you all encourage your athletes to give back to the local community. Sam exemplified everything I look for as I try to point out quality role models for my students.
