LEXINGTON, Ky. - Baylor track and field senior Jenna Pfeiffer won the pentathlon competition to lead BU on Friday at the Rod McCravy Memorial inside Nutter Field House.
To earn the victory, Pfeiffer racked up 3,862 points, which were the second-most of her career, the fifth-most points in school history and coming into the weekend would have ranked No. 5 in the country for the current indoor season.
Pfeiffer's point tally was bolstered by a personal-best mark in the high jump by clearing 5-9.25 [1.76m] in the second event of the competition.
In the other four events, Pfeiffer opened her day with a time of 9.16 in the 60-meter hurdles, while throwing the shot put 33-9.5 [10.30m], long jumping 17-2.25 [5.24m] and running 2:15.78 in the 800-meters.
BU had six other top-five finishers on the day as freshman Taylor Bennett was third in the 200 meters with a time of 24.04, while fellow freshman Blaine Listach was fifth in the high jump by clearing 6-8.25 [2.04m].
After setting a school-record and winning the pole vault last week, junior Annie Rhodes settled for second-place in Kentucky with a best vault of 13-8.25 [4.17m].
In the 600-yard run, the Bears racked up three top-five finishes. First on the men's side, Brandon Moore produced a third place finish with a time of 1:11.47. On the women's side, sophomore 4.
