COLLEGE STATION, Texas - On the opening day of the 2016 indoor season, the Baylor women's track and field team had its distance medley relay team take second place at the Texas A&M 11-Team Invitational Friday at Gilliam Indoor Track and Field Stadium.
The BU crew of Chelsea Orr, Kaitlynn Lindsey, Charlotte Myers and Katie Grovatt posted a time of 11:57.26 for second place behind BYU (11:44.06) and ahead of SFA (12:01.91), Texas A&M (12:08.05) and UTSA (12:18.91) in fifth place.
Orr was running her first track race in three years, after being sidelined with injuries, while Grovatt, Lindsey and Myers have also battled back from injury.
The race was Baylor's only participation at the meet on Friday.
WHAT'S NEXT
On Saturday, the action at the Texas A&M 11-Team Invitational will continue with field events beginning at noon and track prelims starting at 12:30 p.m. The finals for track events will start at 2 p.m.
