Soccer Earns 4-1 Exhibition Win vs. ACU

-- Baylor soccer ended its exhibition portion of preseason camp with a 4-1 win over Abilene Christian Saturday evening at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field. The Bears went up 2-0 in the first 25 minutes and used goals from three freshmen and senior Bri Campos.
BU's first goal came in the seventh minute as freshman Sarah King's left-footed 30-yard cross from the left wing was kicked out of midair in the box by classmate Jackie Crowther.
Crowther was then on the other end of a score for the Bears in the 23rd minute. Her cross from the right wing found freshman Lauren Piercy in the box for a chip shot.
After ACU answered with a 44th-minute goal, Baylor opened the second half by scoring in the 50th minute on a penalty kick from Campos. BU's final goal was scored in the 70th minute off a left-wing cross from Hadley Young that was headed in by Julie James.

*Freshman Julie James scored her second goal of Baylor's two exhibition matches, both headers.
*Freshman Jackie Crowther picked up three points in the game with a goal and assist.
*Senior Bri Campos converted her first penalty kick chance in a Baylor uniform.
*Baylor outshot ACU 18-6 and led 10-3 in shots on goal.
*Baylor led ACU in corner kicks 8-3.
