OTTAWA, Canada -- Baylor won a pair of games against University of Ottawa on Thursday in the Canadian capital. The Bears captured a 92-73 victory in the morning and a 100-84 win in the nightcap.
BU was led by sophomore forward Johnathan Motley, who had 21 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in the first game and followed that effort with 23 points and four rebounds in the nightcap. He combined for 44 points in just 37 minutes played.
JuCo transfer Jo Acuil had 14 points and seven rebounds in the first game, while Lester Medford and Ishmail Wainright chipped in 10 points apiece. Taurean Prince and Austin Mills both scored nine points, Terry Maston had eight points and 10 boards, Al Freeman added six points and Wendell Mitchell scored five points. Five BU players recorded at least three assists, led by Prince, Medford and Jake Lindsey with four apiece.
Rico Gathers saw his first action of the day in the nightcap, and he posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in 25 minutes. Wainright filled the stat sheet with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks in 20 minutes, and Taurean Prince posted 14 points, three assists and two steals. Lindsey, Medford, Freeman and Acuil had seven points apiece, and Maston and Mills each scored two points. Freeman led the way with five assists.

• Baylor trailed 40-39 at the break in the first game, but BU started the third quarter on a 9-0 run and led the rest of the way.
