THE RUNDOWN
DES MOINES, Iowa - The Baylor track and field team had a pair of entries in action at the Drake Relays Thursday at Drake Stadium.
Jessica Purtell got things started for the BU contingent by turning in a personal-best time of 2:10.03 in the 800-meter run. The mark placed the sophomore Bear 11th in the unseeded section of the event. Purtell bettered her previous personal-best of 2:10.42, which she established last week at the Michael Johnson Classic.
To close out the night, the men's 4x1,600-meter relay team of Jonathan Tijerina, Matt League, Chris McElroy and Greg Bostick placed 12th in 16:59.31.

Friday action for BU at the Drake Relays will begin with the hurdlers running at 9:30 a.m.
