March 28, 2015 WACO, Texas - The second-ranked Baylor men's tennis team will host Incarnate Word and UT Arlington at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
The Bears, who are starting a five-match homestand, are 14-3 overall and 7-1 in home matches. BU will be looking to rebound from a 4-1 loss to No. 1 Oklahoma in the final of the BNP Paribas Collegiate Challenge on March 22.
BU is led by third-ranked Julian Lenz, who is 9-2 on the season. Baylor has four other ranked players in singles with Tony Lupieri, Max Tchoutakian, Mate Zsiga and Felipe Rios listed at Nos. 30, 47, 97 and 125 respectively in the latest ITA rankings. The Bears are led in doubles with Lupieri joining Felipe Rios to be ranked No. 35, while Lenz and Diego Galeano are at No. 48 and Lupieri and Zsiga are listed as the country's 51st-best duo.
Incarnate Word is 5-13 on the season. The Bears claimed a 7-0 victory over the Cardinals last season in Waco to hold a 2-0 lead UIW over the Cardinals.
UT Arlington is 10- 5 on the season. Baylor is 12-5 all-time against the Mavericks, but has won the last 11 matches in the series.
