WACO, Texas - Baylor rounded out its 2015 signing class by adding midfielder Julie James (Fairview, Texas), who is the No. 36th-ranked recruit by Top Drawer Soccer and the No. 2 recruit in Texas in the class of 2015.

"We are extremely excited to bring Julie into the Baylor family," said Baylor head coach Paul Jobson. "She was a highly sought after player by all the major soccer programs in the country. Julie fits into every aspect of what we look for in our student-athletes - academically, athletically, socially and spiritually. This addition rounds out a very complete 2015 recruiting class that our entire staff has worked hard to produce."

James played for Sting Soccer Club from 2011-14 and helped the team to an ECNL national title in 2014, third place national finish in 2013 and national runner up in 2012. She attended the 2014 U20 USA Women's National Training Camp as well as the 2012-13 Nike id2 National Training Camp. In 2011, she helped win the USYSA national title and made the 11-person all-tournament team.

In high school at McKinney Christian Academy she was a four-year letterwinner in basketball and track. She helped MCA basketball win district titles in 2013-15 and was named 2014 district MVP. She was a three-time all-district choice, two-time all-state selection and 2012 district Freshman of the Year in hoops. In track at MCA, she was the 2014 400-meter state champion and finished in third place in the 4x100 relay. In 2013, she was the 400-meter fourth place finisher in state and 4x200 relay. In 2012, she took second place in state in the 800-meter, third in the 4x200 relay and sixth in the 4x400 relay.

James joins the 13 other newcomers to the program for 2015 - the largest class of the Jobson era: midfielder Kennedy Brown (Kingwood, Texas), defender Cierra Bryant (Overland Park, Kan.), forward Ashanti Carey (Bridgeton, Mo.), forward Jackie Crowther (Temecula, Calif.), defender/midfielder Haley Foster (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), goalie Rebecca Gartner (Danbury, Conn. | UCF transfer), forward Amanda Hoglund (Spring Grove, Ill.), midfielder Sarah King (Coppell, Texas), defender/midfielder Megan Kostolansky (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), forward Ariel Leach (Flower Mound, Texas), goalie Hannah Parrish (Naperville, Ill.), forward Lauren Piercy (Amarillo, Texas) and defender Kylie Ross (McKinney, Texas).
